Under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009, the sale of all packaged goods and consumer goods requires a Legal Metrology Registration from the Metrology Department of Consumer Affairs that comply with legal metrology for packaged commodities. - Importer
Products that pertain to the “weight & measures” category like weighing machine, thermometer, fall under the category of weight & measurement require to obtain four different registrations from the Legal Metrology department, i.e.
- Model Approval
- Packaged Commodity Registration
- Import License
- Dealership License
